Every once in a while (like whenever I think of it) I have to change the background of my blog, just so people know I am still here. So welcome to my new background.
Last week was absolutely insane! In addition to a 7-page single-spaced Anthropology paper on midwifery and thumbnails AND roughs due for a bilingual magazine article layout, duo-toned roughs were due for my three designs for a deck of playing cards that we are doing as a group project for a pre-press class, the theme of which has changed at least 3 times since the project started! Hence, my dilemma - the final theme ended up as "Forgotten Gods & Saints" - only all the "gods" had to have an ancient Greek look, while all the "saints" had to be Byzantine-ish. Talk about mixing your media! Needless to say, that none of my thumbnails from the first 3 rounds fit this "unique" new criteria - that and did I forget to mention that the overall humor of the deck was leaning toward the 8th-grade middle school boy's locker room variety. However, I am happy to report that I came up three designs that I am pretty happy with - they fit the overall theme and are funny without crossing that fine line into grossness. I think they will be a hit - we'll see.
